The senior Iranian official added that Iran’s membership was approved in the 100th session of the International Labor Conference, which was held June 1-17 in Geneva.
The move comes in recognition of the Iran’s efforts and role in regulating the labor markets and protecting labors' rights.
ILO's board of directors represents the organization's highest authority, which is responsible for preparing strategies and policies, as well as topics that will be discussed during the ILO's annual conferences.
The ILO is a UN body responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labor standards.
